The King told us not
The day nor the hour
As we pursue the Truth
Within Belz Tower
With both our doors
And arms wide open
To shatter our masks
And barriers, broken.
Speak as an equal
And your talents, bring
To our round table
If you hear the Belz ring.
Homie - May 15, 2015
After we had passed around our time
Like a handout from a middle school teacher
Which left us as curiously disinterested
As the typical middle school kid-creature,
I had begun to realize we all had fun
While I analyzed the past
That I hold beneath my beanie.
With the help of Aladdin's nameless genie,
Tupac, and the also-immortal Houdini,
I relived the photos we claim
Frame us as fresh as a French Martini.
And if you don't believe me,
Well, I'd be quite surprised,
Considering the retina-rays,
Which flashed such a look
From behind your eyes
To broadcast the current thought
That's now crossing your mind
Which you'd otherwise only tell
To your roommate, pet, and/or the Lord divine.
You remember the fun we had, too.
Well, besides the homework, and exams,
And the whole "Hell freezing over"
Which couldn't stop our professor's plans
To take down our GPA's
And No-School snow days.
Comradery through common enemy.
Tomfoolery as tedium's remedy.
Haiku #8 - September 26, 2014
It is all folly!
The grass withers, flowers fade,
But the weeds still grow.
Oh wise Mantis, please teach me your ways.
Overt prayer to receive continual praise.
Feigned innocence to lure in all of your prey.
A close partner with no hesitation to betray.
The pharisee studies and marvels at his find.
He soon shall be worshiped by all of mankind,
Paying no heed to the one who designed
The world that surrounds and our complicated mind.
Hold your friends close and your enemies closer.
When it’s time to strike, keep your composure.
Of your sinister plan, give no disclosure.
Let not a soul know you play the part of a poser.
The sky I loved had lost its luster
As it gradually gave in to the fog.
Strength it could no longer muster
Left helpless the sun for the clouds to clog.
Such a saturated blue,
Bid the beach adieu.
On why this must be true.
Time in paradise is through!
Trapped on top of a misty mountain
With terrain too treacherous to skate.
Too spoiled to see the beauty found in
This castle in the clouds I oft' berate.
